Now for wrapping up 2012. A lot happened this year. I would say this year started out very interestingly looking back on all that happened. To start the year, I can remember talking (maybe arguing a little) with my parents trying to work the details of this and that out. Just little tasks that in the grand scheme didn't mean a whole lot. However, our plans were changed when my Grandpa passed away on the evening of the first day of the year. While he had had heart issues for many years, it was definitely unexpected. After this happened, all of our "plans" were dropped, and we spent several days in Kansas with my mom's side of the family. While it was a sad time, it was also a very special time where everybody got to share their memories. I had the honor of compiling and sharing these memories at my Grandpa's service.
Although we planned, our plans were changed. I would say this was the theme of my year.
This year I:
Attended my Grandpa's funeral.
Moved 3+ times.
Worked 2 different jobs (1 twice).
Watched every episode of Friends in order within a 2 month period
Experienced Cain's Ballroom for the first time.
Got engaged (April 24, 2012).
Became obsessed with Microsoft Excel and Access.
Witnessed my Fiancé be blessed with the most ideal job for him.
Got my first big girl unfurnished apartment.
Saw my sister-in-law Bethany become a Doctor of Pharmacy.
Watched my Thunder rise to the Finals then break my heart. I got to watch many of these games with my dear friend Meagan's family. This proved to be precious time because a few months later, Meagan's mom passed away after several years of battling cancer.
Planned a wedding in 3 months.
Got married (July 21) to Daniel who loves, encourages, challenges, and entertains me.
Paid our first electricity bill in our new apartment after a month full of record breaking heat.
Accompanied my husband as he put on a drum show for Harmony Elementary, my mom's school.
Turned 22 and created a year long goal list.
Convinced my husband to read my favorite book series.
Had 2 wonderful Thanksgivings.
Attended my parents annual Christmas reception.
Spent a frozen Christmas with my husband in our apartment.
Got a Kindle and became painfully unproductive since. I have beat the original Angry Birds though :-)
